COURSE SELECTION + ADVISING
Ideally starting freshmen and sophomore years
Colleges review all four years of a student's high school academic career. They want to see how a student has challenged, evolved and executed within the classroom. The courses taken freshman year are as important as those taken senior spring since they all tell a story of a student's growth and achievement. Together we will examine the current and future course selections to develop and strengthen student application.

BRAINSTORMÂ + ESSAY DEVELOPMENT
End of junior year
For many students, who are not strong at writing or intimidated by it, there is a roadblock for how to begin the essay writing process. College applications rely heavily on essays to understand student perspective and interest. In order to solidify a strong application, a student must be confident and clear about what a topic is asking as well as how they will highlight their achievements in their responses. We review the essay questions across applications and strategize approach to drafting and developing a response.

ESSAY WRITING AND REVISION
Ideally summer after junior year
Student voice must ring loudly and clearly in an essay. The essay should be both well-written grammatically and well-written to give insight into a student's personality and goals. An essay should very clearly give a snippet of a student's interest but also outline their potential within their future collegiate experience. We will edit and develop personal statements to convey experience and elevate personality and promise.

COMMUNICATION + INTERVIEW SKILLS
Ongoing throughout all four years
The interview is a powerful, yet often overlooked, component of the college application and scholarship process. For many readers, there was something of intrigue within the application they want to probe into further, or they want to match the personality on paper to that in-person. Both virtually and in-person, students need to be able to present themselves as confident and prepared to highlight their strengths, weaknesses, aspirations and fears during the interview. Together we will bolster student presence with non-verbal and verbal communication that best portray and student's aptitude and potential.
